Known as Awuche — "Let's Go" in Hausa — the giant of Gambaga stood 223 cm when last measured. Diagnosed with Marfan syndrome at 22, he had returned north from Accra after the condition ended his hopes of driving for a living. Mourners overwhelmed the family home in Gambaga; he was buried in Tamale to receive them all.
